How do you thrive with Gastroparesis and Barrettas Esophagus?

So I have been diagnosed with both Gastroparesis and Barrett’s esophagus, which don’t go well together, and now because of both of these conditions I must take Reclast infusions.can they all co-exist together without making each other worse.

Hi @diddie1957, welcome to Connect. That sounds like a lot to sort through, especially when it feels like one condition’s treatment could affect another.

Many members here have learned to balance multiple health conditions at the same time, so I hope others living with gastroparesis, Barrett’s esophagus, or both will share what has helped them. @bonez3861 and @peck1944 have mentioned both.

I wanted to make sure I understand your situation. When you mention that you “must take Reclast infusions because of both of these conditions,” was the infusion recommended because your care team wanted to avoid an oral osteoporosis medication due to your gastroparesis and Barrett’s esophagus?

Have your gastroenterologist and the clinician managing your bone health discussed how they expect these conditions to work together, and what symptoms they’re asking you to watch for?
