How do I age happily and gracefully?
I’m 64 years old. My husband divorced me after 33 years of marriage and left me with nothing. I’ll have to work until I die. My hair is 100% white. I have osteoarthritis in both my knees. People treat me like I’m old. How am I supposed to age happily and gracefully?

9 ReactionsI am so happy for you especially in light of all the challenges you have struggled with. I think that when one is struggling and depressed, it is not helpful to demonstrate our resilience. We all need to keep going, but sometimes we need help beyond what this forum can offer. I think we have to be careful because when one is feeling depressed, they can feel further depressed when they feel not able to live up to the success of others.

12 ReactionsWe have many challenges during our years here. That what IS our life = how we react, deal with, learn from, fully enjoy, celebrate and finally accept our life and all the ups and downs. After you have a few years on you, you will be able to truly appreciate looking back at our past experiences with insight into how we have changed our current situation -through hard work, tears, anguish until we change either the situation or our thinking. It’s amazing how such a sad experience can result in our being in a wonderful place now.
We must muster courage, intelligence, persistence, good decisions -even if we feel weak, stupid, needy, and worthless!
We have the power of making wise and productive choices for our future. All the answers you seek for your life are inside YOU!
Love yourself, your neighbors and your enemys (for they can motivate you to excel!). Just my thoughts…

5 ReactionsThank you, Denise, for this deeply honest and encouraging message. 🙏 It really resonates—especially the reminder that healing takes time and that we all have options, even when life feels uncertain.
Your point about continuing to work and stay productive is so important. In today’s world, productivity doesn’t have to mean a 9–5 job or physical labor. As someone working in the digital space—through blogging, SEO, and platforms like TeraBox Mod APK—I've seen firsthand how online opportunities can empower people of any age or physical ability to earn, grow, and stay mentally active.
You’re absolutely right that health must come first. Whether it's taking care of chronic pain or simply improving posture while working online, small decisions have long-term impact. When we feel good physically, we think clearer and create better.
And yes—age is just a number. The digital world welcomes anyone with passion and purpose, whether you're 25 or 65. There’s always room to reinvent yourself, especially online. 🌱
Thanks again for sharing such a grounded perspective. It’s a great reminder to pause, reflect, and re-align with what truly matters.

7 Reactions@momof2sons You remind me of me—I’m always thinking of being and looking old. I’m 77! But it doesn’t have to be this way. Just stand up straight and tall with your head held high! Repeat to yourself: I AM somebody and I have lots to contribute! Younger folks will say “ what a spirited woman and she looks so good for her age”.
Look for volunteer activities like reading to kids at the library or delivering Meals on Wheels.
“Just do it!’
