Hot, humid weather really increases my PMR symptoms.

My PRM symptoms really bother me more in hot, humid weather. Anyone else experience the same thing? I'm able to walk the dawgs for about 40 minutes when the weather is dry and moderate but when it is hot and humid I experience a lot more pain and 10 minutes is about all I can do. Thanks for your input.

Yes, weather is my killer too. Today I played golf and bravely said, I can do without pill. WRONG
I should have taken 1 Tylenol for arthritis. I came home from golf, took pill, put up legs and voila….an hour or so later, much better. Lesson learned.
My rehumy told me it works fine with prednisone and the Kevzara. (I am off prednisone now)

My pain is actually worse with any shift in the barometric pressure. Rain is the worse but humidity is definitely a problem. I live in hot humid Texas so I am constantly aware. Hoping that as I move into remission with PMR, these changes in weather will not affect me so dramatically. Blessings! ❤️

I agree that any shift in barometric pressure really seems to set off a PMR flare. i’ve been off prednisone for over a year now however, on bad pain days I still have to use over-the-counter meds.

Oh goodie, not just me. I'm in Florida and the summer humidity is a killer. Or high humidity almost anywhere, for that matter. The usual spots, thighs and neck area. Off Prednisone for 2 months after almost 2 years of tapering.

Yes there is CLIMATE CHANGE. 🤯🤯🤯
I’ve lived in AZ 25 yrs and now have the umpteenth day with dew point/humidity adding to over 100%. 🥵
I’ve been off pred for 6 wks, on Kevzara for 21 wks all successfully.
Find I HAVE to take 1-2 Tylenol for Arthritis for relief.
Note: Just back from Alaska where there was no need for oc additional meds.
Looking forward to the Fall weather 🤞(no plans to move 😁)

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, off prednisone since January and as the weather warmed, I got a lot of gelling. Thighs and neck. When I tried acupuncture during my initial symptoms, she told me her arthritis patients were always worse in the summer. Georgia USA here.

I had not made this association but will pay attention. It could be the reason some days are just worse than others. I would also be the reason I feel best in the evening when I have been in air conditioning. I notice a difference when walking the dog. On hot humid days our walks are much shorter. Like many of you I look forward to fall and cooler, dryer, weather.
