@stubbs Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect! I’m glad you found us! As you can see, members have already stepped up to answer your question. I had osteoporosis pretty severe after treatment for my autoimmune disease. I’ve had Reclast infusions twice and have been taking calcium everyday. Then the endocrinologist told me that my DEXA scan showed no osteoporosis! Luckily, because I had a terrible fall several months later and the only injury was a gash in my head! Again, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect!

Hi🙏, I’m Griselle I just joined this group today I only hope to get some help here. I’m having serious health issues that causes me heart arrhythmia., I was treated for 25 yrs with my neurogastoenterologist who kept me in good health but he retired in 2021, since I’m desperately looking for a doctor who can fully understand and respect my 25 yrs of treatment for my motor dysfunctional gastrointestinal syndrome., I have gone from one doctor to the next and no one want to prescribe me my medications to avoid fainting.
I’m looking for help here.

Which other osteo drugs have you taken and in what sequence?
How severe is your osteoporosis. There is so much to learn and can be quite confusing.
This is a great place to get support and hear about other people's experiences.
When did you start menopause? Have you taken hormone replacement before? Why hrt now?
Are you seeing an endocrinologist and what does she/he say about your results on meds. Are you speaking with your doc about hrt?
Since that the women's health initiative study was discovered to be flawed there are a number of books, publications and programs addressing how these flaws have impacted the use of hrt.
Take a look at this presentation on PBS
The M Factor: shredding the silence on menopause.

Greetings Colleen,
I have been advised by my endocrinologist to begin taking FOSAMAX. Has any experienced side effects from this drug and is there a recommended alternative?
Sincerely,
Esther
