Has anyone stayed at the Hope House in Rochester? Gym for patients?

Has anyone stayed at the Sandra Schultz Hope House in Rochester? So, how did you like it? We are thinking of staying there, however I don't think they have a workout facility. Does the Mayo Clinic have a gym for patients?

Hi @mugs24cancer .
I was trying to private message you, but couldn't figure it out. I'm interested to know if you still have a space to rent?

I have had experience with the Riverview Suites., 211 1st. St. NE, They are fully furnished apartments, with a locked entrance. Parking is included in the fee. The furnishings are not “hotel” nice, but more motel nice. The renters are usually international, and there is no gym, but nearly every room has a tv, and the kitchens are furnished, as well. The manager is quick to address any issue, and I would stay there again for anything over a week. It will require a car to get to the clinic, but it is less than 5 min. away.

Hello, we stayed at the Hope House last Christmas week, 2022.
I really liked my room and beds. There are activities in the evening and the staff and other residents are welcoming. I don’t know if they have exercise equipment. Best wishes to you.

Does anyone know of a rental, hotel or otherwise that has oxygen available?

We toured the Hope House but decided to stay at Homewood Suites. Did not know how I would feel during treatment and just could not put all meal preparation on my husband. Also, did not like the fact that there were no TVs in the rooms. TVs were only in commons area. Since then we have bought a townhome in Rochester. It is our “second” home. We love Rochester. It is such a positive and progressive community. When we are not there it is available for others if you would want to contact me. I know there are gyms and workout facilities in Rochester that cater to out of town folks, You might call Mayo and ask how to get a list. Hope this helps. When (and for how long) will you be there?

Greetings @dawn10000, I don't know if Hope Lodge is the facility you are mentioning. However, that is where my life partner and I stayed for 30 days of proton treatment after his prostate surgery. It was just a few feet away from the entrance to the underground walkways to the Mayo Clinic.

We were very impressed with the facility and the quality of care. Actually, the local community made us feel very welcome. One night the high school basketball team came and cooked dinner for us. Then another night the nursing graduating class made supper right before their ceremony. And then one night a 10-year-old boy came to cook dinner for us on his birthday. What a joy that was.

Good luck to you. Here is the phone # for Hope Lodge. (507) 529-4673.k

May you be safe, protected, and free from inner and outer harm.
Chris
