Hip Spacer Replacement

Posted by innergolf @innergolf, Sep 3, 2024

I've got 2 3/4 years on my spacer and starting to feel a little discomfort. From my research & posts it appears this is a very good outcome.

Try to walk at least 4000 - 6000+ steps a day and play golf a couple times a week. The walks are getting more difficult & starting to limp after 20 minutes or

Surgeon says "we'll see how far this can go". Will be 82 end of this month.

All feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Compared to my experience, you're doing great! I lived with a temporary spacer for nearly a year and the best I could do was take a few steps with a walker. It was extremely painful until it was replaced with a permanent prosthesis. I was 60 at the time. I had no idea spacers were a permanent solution.

You seem to be doing extremely well. I've had my spacer for just a year and cannot walk unless with reduced weight on the damaged leg using crutches or a walker and then I'm still in pain!!
