Anterior vs. posterior hip replacement (THR): How do you decide?

What factors come into play on a doctor’s decision to do anterior vs posterior hip replacement?

Wow.
Just days away?
My instinct would be to hit pause, delay, get more information. Try more time and conservative treatment.

As far as I know reviewing multiple research articles the one year major complication rate will a few % regardless of anterior versus posterior versus "Super this or that " versus any other approach, over tens of thousands of surgeries. And complications continue at a % or two every year.
Case reports do exist regarding yoga, not a lot of information, but based on my personal dislocations, I believe many yoga positions should be avoided after hip replacement - lifetime restrictions.* If you search you may find case reports of yoga practitioners having dislocation, and the circumstances, perhaps try Google scholar if you are familiar.

*side note, I am not sure why my hip joints have a lot of wearing, could be any or all of an active moving life, tennis, softball injury, years of daily yoga.

Perhaps consider life expectancy also. If you are quiet active joint replacement may not last as long. Joint wear and tear may be a message recommending moderation.

If I had it to do over, I would have tried a few weeks or maybe months of celecoxib, before considering surgery.

I do hope your choice works out for you in years to come!

I apologize to the group. I don't know how I ended up with repeat messages.
