Hip replacement

Supposed to have hip replacement Appreciate 16. Test results showe ANA OVER 10,000. NEVER BEEN SEEN SO HIGH. ANY THOUGHTS?

Doctor didn’t think much of it. It’s pain, not numbness. I have a friend who is 1.5 years out from anterior THR and her thigh is still numb.

I hope you find a solution for the pain. Numbness a year and a half post op is discouraging.

I had a right hip replacement on February 7, 2023. I had suffered with pain with every step I took BEFORE surgery for almost two years. I was finally in a position to retire from work and have the surgery. I did marvelous through the surgery and had NO PAIN at all the first night after surgery. I have been doing PT on a VERY regular basis and have not had any pain UNTIL about 4 days ago. The pain is NOT in my hip area, it is a burning pain in my calf area and foot when I begin to walk. After I have been out of bed for an hour or so and have moved around, it subsides, but then begins all over again the next morning when I get up. Has anybody else had any pain like this and if so, what did you do about it?

Hello, I am thinking back to some of my hip surgeries, when random places would hurt for awhile, then stop.
Joint surgeries make a lot of collateral areas hurt as nerves and muscles heal, and as our body becomes accustomed to our new gait. So if it subsides each day, doesn't begin to get worse, and gradually lessens over a week or so, no problem. Otherwise call your surgeon. You probably had some nerves damaged or pinched during surgery, and they are just now beginning to heal, which can take quite a long time.

CAUTION: One danger after surgery is blood clots, which can be very dabgerous. If the area is red or warm/hot to the touch, or if it moves upward, call your doctor right away. If the surgeon is not available, call your primary or go to an Urgency or Emergency center.

Good luck on your continued recovery. Isn't life with less pain wonderful?
