High level of Creatinine
So last year my bloodwork said my Creatinine level was high.
I’ve been taking NativePath Fortibone for over a year and increased the dosage to two caps a day as my My last Dexa Scan showed worsening numbers. I also started Creatine powder supplement recently unaware they were connected .
My endocrinologist said to stop taking Creatine supplement.
I looked up Collogen supplements like Fortibone and that too can raise levels.
Thought I was helping my bones but at the same time not helping my kidneys!
Has anyone else had this situation ?
I do not take any medications for my Osteoporosis and trying not to .
I’m 75 and Never broke a bone, very active in exercises for bone health squats,lunges, jump/hop impact (Pilates and Yoga daily too) , eating the best I can, eat very little sugar (not brown or white but date syrup sometimes , or Xylitol in my one cup of coffee. liquid fish oil daily, Ground Flax daily, plain Greek yogurt daily, with bananas and blueberries.

Hi ... I wouldn't assume you're damaging your kidneys by taking creatine. Creatinine levels WILL rise in individuals taking creatine. Therefore the eGFR test becomes irrelevant when it comes to kidney health. To test the health of your kidneys while taking creatine, ask your doc to run the Cystatin C blood test. This lab is a MUCH better indicator of well your kidneys are functioning and is not tied to creatinine levels. If it is normal, your kidneys are FINE. 🙂 .
Hope this eases your mind.

Are you sure it’s called a chronometer?
This is what I found.
@meri8181 Its called cronometer.com. I use it to track my food intake. I do not use it for tracking my fluid intake, though. I have a 32 oz water bottle that I try to drink all of every day plus other beverages like flavored sparkling water, coffee, tea, etc.
Here's the link to the site: https://cronometer.com/
There is also an app available for your phone. It's free but you can pay to unlock additional features.
@meri8181 Cronometer. Sorry about that!
How are you feeling? What’s your status with the Fortibone? Thinking of buying it also?
It is really tough trying to help our bones and not tax our kidneys…this combo of health issues is quite common…i am researching this a lot so I can ask my docs really good questions…the diet often recommended for bones (heavy on dairy and protein) can really affect kidney #s…so, i am reducing dairy quite a bit and doing plant proteins where possible…having smaller portions of fish and poultry, and eating more of the kidney friendly veggies and fruits, and carbs…. Eager to see if that helps at next blood tests…OP meds are often hard on kidneys, GI and jawbones….(also, CT/MRI contrasts should either be changed or preceded/followed by super hydrating.)
