Treating Osteoporosis: What works for you?
Hi. I'm new to the site and am interested in treating osteoperosis. I'm 39 yo and recently had a bone density that showed I'm at -2.4. So, going through the intial "I can't believe it" stuff. 🙂

@lioness. Yes, that's the garment my friend has been wearing - 24/7! Don't know how she can stand it - especially with the terrible heat we've been having. Interesting the schedule you were on. With no further instructions from doctor, she finally took it off and that's when the pain hit! Shall be getting an update soon from her - hope for some good news!
@lioness
Thanks for your question lioness. I used marijuana cream a couple of years ago before my back surgery. I used it for pain each morning and each evening on the back of my neck and on my right hip, thigh, and calf down to my ankle and toes on the right side. It helped me tremendously as I was consulting at a job in Washington state and was in a lot of pain. I used it when I was having pain and didn't have a schedule for how often. I never felt high from the cream. It was very surprisingly helpful for my pain. However, I also tried some edible marijuana in chocolate and I got too much I guess because I was so high it really made me paranoid. I did not like that at all. My use was only for pain.
I haven't used CBD cream, but I think I will try it. I hope you find relief for your pain.

@trishanna when I fractured my back Dr put me in a turtle shell brace wore during day ,took of at night for 3months then water therapy for 6 months.
@I will didn't come yet hope your well today not here just had my back injected
@lioness. There were delays, whatever, but somehow initially, even with x-rays, the break was missed. She's scheduled for an MRI this week - hope it will provide more information. She's been in a back brace for more than six weeks; if she removes it, the pain is awful. There are more stories of errors made by the medical staff, but that she's being told there's nothing that can be done for her that has me so upset. It seems to me it's a life sentence! I note your question about CBD cream - I was looking into it for my friend so I hope you'll let us know how effective it is.
@trishanna didn't the Dr.take an xray?That will tell if she has a fractured vertebra Our bodies need minerals of all kinds magnesium Vi t D3calcium does she take a vitamin ,mineral?
@gailb Id like to ask about CB D cream I ordered some but am unsure if you use it just when you have the pain or should it be more on a regular basis ? Since you have used it can you us some guidelines?Thanks
@lioness. Thanks for your reply. I'm going to ask her about her Vit D - very important for all of us but I wasn't aware there was a link to calcium and osteoporosis. My friend is in such pain - from her vertebrae, her intestinal tract (IBS), her shoulder. I think she was working when she lifted something too heavy, but doctors can't seem to decide if she broke her vertebrae or not. Add insurance problems and no money, and it's just tragic. I will push about Vit D - I take 2000 a day.
I have been on prolia injections for 2 yrs with little improvement. My last injection caused a reaction of severe hip pain an severe cramping in my calves. So I think I will discontinue. Don't know what else to do? Any suggestions?
@trishanna My friend had osteoporosis and Dr .endocrinologist did blood work On her he tested her hormones Vitamin levels and found she had a severe diffency in Vi t D3 he put her on 5000 units ,plus calcium and magnesium told her start weight training 2lbs then increase it, swimming, exercise .Check with your Dr. Hope this helps
