Hi. I'm new to the site and am interested in treating osteoperosis. I'm 39 yo and recently had a bone density that showed I'm at -2.4. So, going through the intial "I can't believe it" stuff. 🙂

Good evening @kstoller22, Welcome to Connect. I was so glad to see you telling us that you are new on this path. If you are speaking about the world of osteoporosis and all of its options and afflictions, we are all sort of new to this part of the aging process. Remember though that as we keep pushing the aging envelope higher and higher, we run into more and more of our body parts that encounter some roadblocks, and others that just need a lot of help from the food we eat and the exercises we do in hopes that we are doing our best to live a healthy life, rich on the quality side with family, friends, activities, and experiences and attentive on the quantity side to make sure we are doing everything we can to age peacefully and without undue pain and suffering.
As time passes we find that osteoporosis often creeps up and weakens our bones. There are quite a few different strategies to deal with this inadequacy. Some of us are on a natural path. Some of us need help from medications and supportive regimens. What we have been doing for the last few months is trying to get all of us to join together as we encounter different options and choices. It appears that we all will have to make some pretty major decisions. There is no one solution for all. There are medically trained clinicians who will help us learn about osteopenia and then osteoporosis. There are folks on Connect who will share their helpful stories.
What are you considering at this point @kstoller22? Would you be comfortable sharing more of your medical situation and whatever in your life has led you to this point?
May you be safe and protected from inner and outer harm.
Chris
@lilypaws Hi glad your getting better. Bit k wiyhk4 ,,@7 makes sure calcium doesn't go into your kidneys just into your bones There are a lot of different kinds of Magnesium do you should research which is better to take Boron is a vitamin research this too ,,@parrotqueen. is very knowledgeable I buy from Amazon
@lioness ok what I understand it vitamin K had the Mk 4-@7, which I do not know what that is except for the Vitamin K. And I under stand that Magnesium and Boron is in the vitamin. I know Magnesium gives me diarrha (SP) unless this is a different kind of Magnesium. Can I order it from Amazon? Walked further today, but have to do short walks 2 or 3 times a day. I still get so tired and have some pain the worse pain is on my left side, but it feels better today, but I feel it might have been a muscle and I massaged it last night. Stay safe and Blessings to you. Jeanie

Hello- what are the supplement brands you are using to get the MK4 and MK7 and Boron and Magnesium - is it one tablet? Thanks- new to this blog and new on this path.
@migizii We all have to do what we think is best I have been following this protocol have 1more year before dexascan am encouraged as to what parrotquee said.
In reply to parrot queen, thanks for all this information! I will definitely check into these supplements even though I chose to take the osteoporosis drugs also.....I think doing everything I can to keep my bones functioning is well worth it. I have had osteoporosis since my late 40’s and have fractured now that I am in my sixties......many of the medicinal interventions did not work, but I have found success with Prolia in spite of things you have heard about and my dentist knows and keeps close care, but all is good. Thanks again and take care. I do follow the Facebook group occasionally too.
In reply to @lioness My doctor was not too helpful other than suggest OTC remedies. I am going to message my endocrinologist. My PCP is going to recheck my calcium in early October as I said I wanted to remain at 800 mg instead of 1200 mg to see if my levels were high enough for my next Prolia injection. My calcium levels have never been low before.
@parrotqueen I know what Vitamin K but what is (MK4, K2 & boron. Magnesium gives me diarrhea. I use Miralax and you can get this from Amazon Generic Miralax. I only use part of a capful or else I get diarrha (SP) I might try Magnesium during the day and see if I get diarrha. (SP) I use to be a good speller. Milk of Magnesia is good to so you probably just want to stick to that. Im going to get D2 and Magnesium in the morning instead at bedtime. See if it causes diarrha (SP) again. My husband takes it at night for constipation and it works for him, but he goes several times a day. Blessings to you.
@parrotqueed Good to hear from you . I,m glad to hear some have had good results on there Dexa ScanThis affirms what you told me and what I will tell my Dr when she starts in on me about those drugs. I'm still on my D3,K 2both mk4 and 7 Boron ,magnesium and calcium of course . I find my bowels bind up but am taking Benefiber 2 times a day and prunes about 4 I eat . Hope your doing well.
