Thanks David, this helps me connect you with other members who are also talking about back pain. I'm tagging @ladyjane85, @sharonmay7 and @excentrk on this thread and hope they'll share their experiences.

As you know, we don't collect location information when you register for Mayo Clinic Connect. So, unless someone discloses where they live in a message, we don't know where they live. I recommend that you post a message to this discussion thread on Chronic Pain (https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/are-there-any-discussions-for-chronic-pain/) where there is a very knowledgeable discussion happening with many members. Someone in the group may have a recommendation of a doctor in Connecticut.

dr.yanapolis he is a very good back doctor I have total faith in his decisions. he has an office in bloomfield and 1 in enfield. he has operated on me and also advised me when my primary dr. sent me to a different surgeon that one wanted to operate on my neck. dr. y told me I should hold off . I did and I'm doing ok I retierd from truck driving 3 yrs ago and my neck pain is manageable now even with herniated discs. I live in montana now and have to see a surgeon next week because of degenerate disk disease.i have several herniated discs in my lower back 2 of them severe before I make any decisions I will consult with dr. y back in ct. by phone. best of luck to you..........................................

Welcome to Connect, @rick537. Your message proves that you just never know where you're going to find answers and from whom. Who would've thought that @connecticuthuskyfan would get a recommendation for a doctor in Connecticut from a resident in Montana. That's the power of online community. Thank you.
Good luck with your appointment with your surgeon next week. Please let us know how it goes.
