Hepatitis unknown origin EUS notes

Posted by sb4ca @sb4ca, Jul 23, 2023

Hi. I had a ultrasound guided endoscopy with ERCP biopsy. The doctor told me that I didn’t have cirrhosis. The notes say my liver is slightly bunted and the contour was slightly irregular. The parenchyma is normal. Could anyone tell me the significance of this? Was this purposely vague.? I’m also scheduled for a regular ultrasound plus the fibroscan. They did get a good and long biopsy but what is the strategy for what area to biopsy if nothing stands out? I have a primary immune deficiency and impaired antibody testing so even an autoimmune disorder might not get picked up through blood tests. My hepatologist has been tracking my IgG and subclasses and I meet with him again next week. In the interim I’m trying to understand the significance of visual information. Would love to hear from anyone who may help. Thanks

I have no idea what this means, especially "bunted". I'm not familiar with that word in any context.

@sb4ca I can certainly understand your confusion with the results of the liver endoscopy. Doctors have their own language! Your best bet is to write down your questions regarding the report and take it to your next doctor appointment. None of us on Mayo Clinic Connect are qualifies to comment on reports or lab values. We can wait until other members see your post and comment on it.
When is your ultrasound and fibroscan scheduled?
