What types of foods are you eating now, @lones? Is anything you are eating and drinking triggering digestive tract problems?

My case is a little different since they removed my sigmoid and rectum, so I have no holding place for my faeces and have to be careful about what I eat. After my surgery, I started with a very restricted, safe diet, all very simply prepared, with all fruits and vegetables peeled and cooked, except for bananas: chicken breast, white fish, eggs, bread, potatoes, white rice, corn tortillas, plain crackers like saltines or ritz, bananas, apples and pears (peeled and cooked, I insist), and olive oil. This for about three weeks. Then I added one food at a time or changed a presentation (from cooked to raw for example) per week. I started with seeded, peeled, cooked zucchini, then chayote, then turkey meat, then peeled, cooked bell peppers, avocado, butter, green beans, mango. You add according to your taste and you wait to week to see how your digestive systems reacts to it. Now I eat quite a variety of fruits and vegetables, but no red meats and no pork, since the fat in them makes me take too many trips to the bathroom, almost as liquid as diarrhea.
For several months I didn't eat any dairy products, but now I tolerate them well except cheese made from the cream of the milk. Kefir and yogurt help restore the gut microbiom. Some people eat other fermented food like kimchi or saurkraut, but I haven't tried yet.
Artificial sweeteners do not sit well by me.
No alcohol.
I stop ingesting any liquid 30 minutes before my meals till one hour after I'm done eating.
You might feel more comfortable consulting with a clinical dietitian.

I had the same exact surgery in 2016. I had No restrictions. My surgeon said to eat anything I wanted. I just did not eat a large amount in one sitting for the first couple of weeks. No problems. If not for the small scar around my navel, would not know I had the surgery. Bowel movement once a day normal stool.
