help for veterans
My husband needs revision of hardware in his back. He is a veteran being seen by the VA for work-related disability. His case is too complex for VA Gainesville so they want to send him to someone in Jacksonville, FL. I would like him to come to MCF but it is "out-of-network". He has to go to another hospital in Jacksonville. As an employee of Mayo, I would prefer him to come here. He is also covered by Tricare. How can I plead my case to get him seen here. Suggestions welcome.

@lbrwn7 my husband was seen at Mayo Rochester for his Multiple myeloma and had a stem cell transplant. He has Tri care for life as a retired veteran. Unless this has changed or Mayo has quit accepting it, he should be covered. I cannot speak about copays because we are at maximum out of pocket every year, usually by March or April.
As a Mayo employee, you should be able to connect with the folks who deal with insurance……………….right?
Does anyone knows who I should contact at MCF ?

I also as a Vet have tricare for life but its secondary to Medicare. When ran into problems with direct talking to the finance dept I felt also I wasn't being heard on a billing question. So I contacted the Social worker dept which was able to suggest a person in the finance dept to help me. Im in Arizona so your social worker is probably someone different. But I would try that path.
Also if you make an actually appointment with the finance dept may help also. I had more luck in the initial stages that way. Good Luck
