I sent a message about week ago just asking if anyone took antibiotics and then after less than 3 months ID doctor told me to stop. I had 2 blood test which showed my WBC very low.
Has anyone else been taken off antibiotics that fast?
I will see doctor again in August then after blood test results to see if WBC went back up, I have no idea what next.
Not asking medical advice just wondering anyone else taken off meds that fast.
Even before 3 month trial.

@sheila7a I saw both posts, and don't have anything to contribute. I am guessing if you got no reply here, noone has had their doctor stop their antibiotics like yours did.
Have you discussed this with your pulmonologist yet?

1 ReactionI stopped after about 7-8 months but not due to low white blood count like in your situation. The infection showed as cleared during a follow up after about 4 months and I had to switch doctors so the new doctor had a different view on prescribing and using antibiotics. While I stopped the meds for now I am still doing daily airway clearance and will do a CT scan in a few months.
