Are your heart symptoms worse in morning, better as day progresses?

For those suffering with tachycardia, fatigue, orthostasis and post exertional malaise: do you notice symptoms are worst in the morning and gradually improve throughout the day?

Ggsh, has this always been the case with your symptoms? Or are they improving in general?

My symptoms definitely are worse in the morning as I am more dehydrated. I wake up and drink an electrolyte drink and really push fluids and sodium. After eating breakfast I usually feel much better. However if I am having palpitations that generally continues through the day. I know so many work POTS and they wake up and drink pickle juice. Whatever works for you!

I noticed the pattern from the very beginning of the post-covid "crash", which for me started around a month ago. I find it hard to quantify improvement as the symptoms fluctuate from day to day. Sometimes I would go from walking 7-8000 steps one day to not being able to stand for 5 min the next, then back to walking in 2-3 days.

Thank you both for sharing your experiences! I actually was not quite meeting the criteria for POTS when my doctor checked. My symptoms were more in line with inappropriate sinus tachycardia. I also notice gi symptoms improve as the day progresses.

My heart palpitations got worse when I over-extended myself physically. They were pretty much gone (late spring this year) then I started swimming this summer. I actually felt it "trigger" the heart palpitations back into starting again. When I exercise too much, which is not much at this point, it actually is jarring to my body -- I'm wide awake at night. So there's definitely something "bigger" happening in the body than just over-exertion. It feels like a clear domino effect. So, I am very cautious now to not over extend myself at all -- physically, mentally and emotionally too. The heart palpitations are the only remaining symptom I have, long-haul wise.

I may try an ice bath again because this has worked as a "reset" for me in the past.

It also sounds like you're depleting your system by walking 8,000+ steps, then being fully exhausted the next day. I try to avoid this type of activity completely, to allow my body to really recover.

I wonder if you've tried taking B-3 (niacinamide) so that your body can make enough NAD again? This is very crucial for all systems and processes in the body. I still take B-3 but only 2-3x per week (down from 2x daily in the past). All the best!

I have also developed an autoimmune disorder post Covid. So now if I am exposed to anything, even getting Botox, I will have all the post Covid symptoms all over again. My neurologist recommended taking a small round of steroids when this happens for now. We just have to try to live with it. It is hard for me as I am a runner and want to exercise daily. I know now to get my heart symptoms under control then can workout. My heart rate will be high sometimes and I will have palpitations but I push through. I have to balance how much I can do due to PEM.

Do you mind me asking what autoimmune condition you were diagnosed with?

During the night they are definitely more intense. I wake up every two to three hours due to some symptom. Is it the burning sensation nerves in my right arm or leg or is it nerve pain in my right hand - toes? maybe its the dry mouth or tongue on fire or the intense headaches - all seem to be greater when horizontal. Only the fatigue seems to stay the same during the day but gets worst as the week goes on. I'm still trying to work (desk job) but come Friday I feel like death warmed over. The weekend doesn't seem to help to recuperate _ just as tired om Monday.
