Hb and Iron low after whipple surgery due to removal of duodenum. How?

I had whipple surgery on 2024 Aug. Almost two years ago. I am encoutering low Hb, red blood count and iron. I am taking chlorophyll and iron table everyday. It does not help much. I am having IV iron every 2-3 months. According to doctor, that is the only choice as my duedenum was removed during the surgery. May I know anyone have the same experience before please? how did you overcome it?

Thank you for sharing!! My husband just had his Whipple in 2025 and has also had low Hbg/iron since, no one has really addressed because his levels are not low enough for infusions. I am interested to knowing who else has experienced this issue and how they have managed this as supplements have not helped.
