Having trouble with Hashimoto disease and anemia
I just got diagnosed with Hashimoto disease a couple of months ago. Which I researched myself to find. Then I have to see oncology because they can’t find out why I’m anemic. I see the oncologist every 3 months for bloodwork. He’s talked about doing a bone marrow test next.I’ve had bloodwork so many times I can’t count. Recently I’m on levothyroxine and I’m back to every symptom I had before I started the medication. My primary doctor is the one prescribing the medication. My husband thinks I should see a thyroid specialist because he doesn’t like that I had to tell my doctor to check my thyroid at 48 years old. The question is I got Covid twice, developed congestive heart failure, my asthma picked up and then the CHF reversed and now I have Hashimoto. So how long have I had a thyroid issue?

I also have this thyroid disorder. Take the meds you take. TSH is now normal. How long have I had this problem. I have no idea. I’m 66. Last time I had a TSH test was over 10 years ago and it was normal. I really had no symptoms but the thyroid is a crucial gland. I also see an oncologist for a whole other issue of SMM. Are they related? No not really. I also have an autoimmune disease Celiac. Are they related. Possibly. Low HGB. Possibly low iron in your case would be concerning if it has occurred for a long period of time. Bone marrow makes up red cells. So bone marrow biopsy makes sense.
