Does the Reynauds affect her hip as well? My friend is able to use wrapped ice packs on major joints even though he has Reynauds in his hands, forearms and feet. This is probably a discussion she needs to have with the Ortho surgeon and her Rheumatologist.

It can affect anypart, the hands and feet are the worst, she just could never take the cold. We told the surgeons nurse.

Whose to say she will need ice ?
In my experience and I have had 6 hip surgeries, there’s hardly any pain or swelling after the surgery
Do the PT and exercises will help .
Good luck to her and YOU
