Have you changed your diet post breast cancer?
I am reading so much conflicting information about diets for breast cancer patients/survivors. Some say Mediterranean, some say no meat, dairy, carbs, sugars, etc. I've even read where you should eat all meat. I'm also on Tamoxifen and found an article that said I should avoid Chamomile Tea, pineapple, oranges, soy and shell fish. Then I read another article that said that tofu might actually help people on Tamoxifen. What do you believe? My oncologist didn't give me any information about things I should avoid and finding this frightened me.

Very helpful information . I to have HR+ and was on HRT for 13 years. Just starting radiation this week.
I was just curious what others were doing. I've actually been a relatively healthy eater for some time but do need to make a few changes - biggest one is to drink more water.
Hello!
I was on bio-identical hrt that was compounded. I was fine for 20+ years until I changed pharmacies. Radiation was kinda tough but so am I lol
Blessings to you
Diaya frozen pizzas are Gluten free & totally vegan (the fake cheese is okay). Amy's bowls & other frozen meals are delicious - some of them do have "real" cheese though, but are gluten free. When I feel the urge for some chocolate - I get Veggies Made Great double chocolate muffins - main ingredient is Zucchini & carrots. They also have a blueberry muffin - but I can taste the zucchini in those. Cheapest place to find these is Walmart - other stores are higher. I can go 2 or 3 days meat free.
Thank you very much. And best wishes in your journey.
Chris, this makes a lot of sense to me, and I also enjoyed reading about how you live and eat. Connect is so great this way. I've been a type 2 diabetic for many decades and I've always strictly counted my carb servings--and that just works beautifully and is now just a habit. After breast cancer diagnosis I felt no need to make any more changes. Except one--I can get spacey around food and not enjoy it much and sometimes lose weight in a way that doesn't feel positive. So I'm trying to enjoy what I eat more, and even write it down in my gratitude journal. It is fun to see it later--and yes, there is ice cream on that list! And also home grown veggies or special things my husband or friends cook. My system makes me feel good, and I barely think about it--it is a good combo of free and conscientious, so sustainable. Thanks again!
HI,
Sorry to hear about the side affects you have been having from radiation. Did you have a lumpectomy? I am just wondering what area the radiation was supposed to encompass.
How many rounds of radiation? I have had radiation twice to may left arm pit and the last time it really did damage to my muscle mobility & necrosis, plus upper lung lobe has some sclerotic evidence there. It was some type of hyper radiation "blasts" , 5 sessions and was not explained in its entirety to me (espec. the likely aftermath /side affects) Not HAPPY OR IMPRESSED W/ THE Radiologist & techs.
I've been tapped out with time due to family stress and demands for so many years now and am TRYING to put the focus on myself for a change...I haven't made this simple salad dressing in YEARS!!!
I used to... and will again now...: Olive oil 3parts (approx 1C) to 1 part balsamic (1/4 C) or Apple Cider Vinegar ..... your pref.
The following can be tweaked to yr taste: a abt. 3/4 tsp. of brown mustard, Tbl. sp of Honey , salt, pepper, what ever spices you like....Try to use organic main ingredients if possible.
where did you get a saliva cortisol test from. That is of great interest to me 🙂 I can relate to your trying to address the chronic stress that has plagued you .
Canary 4 point saliva test. Be sure to read the instructions prior to taking. You need to avoid certain meds, supplements and food. My cortisol was bottomed out in the morning. Started drinking an adrenal cocktail at 2:00 PM every day and taking Drenamin per my Dr.
