Recurring uti's with catheter use

Looking for help for my 50 year old daughter. Bladder has to be emptied with catheter. Frequent uti's. She is living overseas and has a chauvinistic dr who blames her for not being careful about hygiene. I don't think he has done any investigation except cystoscope. He could not get in as I understand it. I read that bladder issues can occur during menopause because of hormone changes. She has begun menopause. She has several autoimmune disorders. She is scheduled to move back in August, but I hope that that is not going to be too long to be seen by a competent doctor. Anyone with this problem?

What a journey you have been on! Glad things are looking up. I agree with finding female physicians. The man my daughter has been stuck with overseas takes no responsibility for her issues. The unsterile instruments got my attention. She hopes to get in with a specialist when she gets back to the states in late August. She will contact her female primary for referral. Thanks for sharing!

@ggr a doctor (urologist?) who is unable to perform a cystoscopy is in no position to criticize their patient re hygiene. At the very least the doc should have found a colleague who could perform the job. How is your daughter doing now? Has she been able to get a 2nd opinion?

She is returning to the states in late August. I don't know if she has contacted her primary for a referral yet. Doctoring is different in some foreign countries than what we are used to. Her latest UTI has responded to treatment with antibiotics, and she is feeling better but still not to the root of the problem. Thanks for your concern.
