Has anyone with PMR used Low Dose Naltrexone when trying to taper off

PMR diagnosed 10 months ago. Prednisone started in June (15mg) and slow taper has been done with CRP and sed rates monthly. Did well until getting an upper respiratory infection and dropping from 2 mg to 1 mg. My rheumatologist put me back at 2 mg and wants to start Plaquenil (Hydroxychloroquine sulfate) after an opthalmology evaluation. The retinal side effects scare me. I asked about Low Dose Naltrexone which has been studied in several other auto immune disorder studies as a means to stop biologic inflamation contributors. The studies are small and there will probabll never be a large one due to it not being profitable. If you have input on either Low Dose Naltrexone or on Plaquenil use, please reply.

PMR times 5 years. Use dexamethasone 1 or 2 mg once a day. Usually one but sometimes forget to split pill. Never could get off
