Has anyone tried Zyvox (linezolid) ?

Has anyone tried Zyvox? I can’t take the big 3, And you have to take it for a year or more! I’m hoping to take something for a shorter duration and a better chance of a cure! I know they all can possibly have serious side effects.
I’m willing to risk it with frequent monitoring.

I tried linezolid for a short while, but I couldn’t tolerate it. I believe it has a warning to not eat a long list of things like soy sauce, cheddar cheese, and a bunch of other things. I’m not even sure which of the many lung infections I’ve had that it was prescribed for!

Thanks, yes it has a lot of bad side effects possible.
But looks to be very effective for the patient that can tolerate it.
I’m thinking about it.

I developed severe anemia. Needless to say it was discontinued.

Did your specific infection show sensitivity to it on the culture? If not, I would want to make sure it is the right drug for my own strain of MAC before I tried it.
Have you tried airway clearance with 7% saline to see if you could knock down the infection without antibiotics?
