Has anyone tried botox for post treatment incontinence?

Doctor suggested botox for persistent incontinence following surgery, radiation, and hormone therapy. Has anyone tried this?

@kenhorse, ha ha. Fact is Botox injections are not just for wrinkles on your face. They're also used to treat neck spasms, sweating, overactive bladder, lazy eye and other conditions. Botox shots also may help prevent migraine. Who knew, right?

@hudsonlady, this article from Mayo Clinic explains the use of Botox for to treat urge incontinence or overactive bladder in people who have not had success with other treatment options.

Excerpt:
"Another option for controlling high bladder pressures when the oral medications are not successful is Botox injection into the bladder. The Botox is injected in the office setting through the cystoscope within approximately 50% success rate. The Botox usually has a maximum duration of benefit in the range of six months requiring repeat injection on a regular basis. There is also a 5% risk of urinary retention associated with Botox injection."

Like you mentioned in another discussion, reviews are mixed. It's an individual choice. Did your doctor discuss the risks with using Botox? It might not work, but are there also risks?
