Has anyone switched from Prolia after one injection?
I had one Prolia injection. I hate the side effects. The rheumatologist says I can’t switch even after one injection. Please help.

Sounds like the rheumatologist is a drug dealer versus a medical doctor, in my opinion get a new doctor.

1 Reactionlizd, you can stop Prolia after one injection. There is no better time to quit than after a single injection.
There are doctors who say there is no proof of risk after one injection and others who say they've never seen fractures after one injection. https://www.youtube.com/watch at about 19 minutes in.
I wouldn't be willing to risk quitting without a replacement bisphosphonate, unless I could get the bone marker CTX at monthly for several months following the final injection.
The Rheumatologist is mistaken. You might fare better with a change of physician. How many months has it been since your Prolia injection?

2 Reactions@gently have not started yet after 6 months since broken hip entire left arm and collar bone
Waiting for surgeons ok to start. Lot of pain very upset
yescandothis,
Prolia would halt the bone turnover needed to repair the bones that have broken. Your surgeons want those bones to heal before Prolia. Have your doctors considered Forteo or Tymlos. These drugs advance healing by stimulating the cells that carry away damaged bone and hasten bone replacement.
These two medications haven't been studied specifically in liver patients. And would need consideration by your liver specialist and monitoring of liver enzymes.
These bone can completely heal at about six months, but sometimes it takes longer. Do you have a follow-up soon. Be sure to stay on your surgeon's radar as needing approval of the bone drug,
I'm sorry you are suffering so long.
