Has anyone in the U.S. been prescribed 5mg of Tamoxifen

Has anyone in the U.S. been prescribed 5 mg of Tamoxifen rather than the standard 20mg for LCIS or Stage One?
Friends in Europe that have had LCIS or Stage One have been prescribed the dose of 5mg. It seems here in the U.S. we are being prescribed the higher dose of 20mg. I just wondering if they test blood and titrate or just prescribe the 20 mg. Thank you for your input.

My oncologist prescribed me with 10 mg every other day, because the 5 mg is not available in U.S. and there is a study that demonstrates that 5 mg is as effective as 20 mg with less sides effects.
I’ve been in this dose for about 2 months with no side effects.

Is your oncologist at the Mayo?

I read where in Italy they prescribe 5%. I recently read a study that found that 10% is sufficient in most cases and there is less side effects. If I should decide to take them, I would only take 10%. Oncologist didn't have a good answer for this.

Yes, my Oncologist prescribed the 10 mg every other because of that study.

yes, I take a baby dose. Just started. 10 was too much. 10 made my bones hurt even more than usual and 10 gives me a stomach issue. Don't know yet how that will work.

Can the 10 mg be broken in half?

Hi ! I am 10 months on Tamoxifen 5 mg ( 10 mg every other day) . My doctor said there was study about low dosage of tamoxifen having the same effects as previously prescribed higher doses . Does any of you ladies have issues with heavy night sweats or hair loss being on this medication ? Hugs to all of you going through this awful experience. Lots of health ! ❤️🙏🏻
