Has anyone had the surgical procedure called The Dellon procedure?

Posted by patriciaschulz1950 @patriciaschulz1950, Jun 6 6:19am

20 + years , spending the last two trying to diagnose. I found a podiatrist that listened and touched my feet and legs. He performs the Dellon procedure on his neuropathy patients. Anyone know of it or had the procedure done?

I searched Connect but yours was the only one I found discussing the Dellon procedure. I think it might be beneficial if your pain is caused by nerve compression vs damaged nerves from causes other than compression.

There's actually quite a bit of information available on the procedure.

Yes, a lot of good information on the web. I was hoping to find someone that had it done. I have found many you tube videos, and the Dellon website is great information.
Thank you for your reply.

Ok, you don’t have diabetics and me too - thankfully… Doesn’t the surgery of The Dellon Procedure is for “diabetics” of peo like this instead of folks like us with no diabetics?

I’ve got questions:

1. Is that meds that could cause that people that DO NOT have diabetics?

2. These people who has diabetics NEEDS things like The Dellon, hopefully.

I have peripheral neuropathy. Several years ago, I saw a doctor who performs the Dellon procedure but was told I didn’t qualify for it. I believe the procedure is for the patient who has a localized nerve compression in the lower extremities. It is somewhat equivalent to carpal tunnel in the upper extremities.

Maggie - you are right. This is equivalent to carpal tunnel - and I have decided to give it a try in my worst leg (if there really is one) left first. I will keep this forum up to date on hopefully, positive results. I am "classified" as Idiopathic neuropathy - which means no one knows why. It's been over 20+ years and this is the first time anyone has mentioned it to me- which made me skeptical, but the more I read - hell why not? Like many of you, I have tried everything, even the drugs, which I have been free of for over 4 years now...they didn't help, just masked it. My heart breaks for all of us as we continue to suffer.

I wish I could answer your questions. I quit the meds - as they just masked the problem and made me so drowsy/non-existence, and I LOVE LIFE and am grateful. I hope this procedure works.
I always waiver between 5.7-6.0, but all doctors say I am not diabetic. I was a gestational diabetic with both my pregnancies, and my mother was an early (age 40) type 2 diabetic, which ultimately took her life. I will keep this forum updated.
