Has anyone had symptoms similar to allergies or allergic reaction

About a week ago all of a sudden I started itching all over my body as if I bitten from head to toe by mosquitoes. I was up three days itching so bad it wouldn’t let me fall asleep. My eyes were hurting from it’s them so much. Both eyes were red and very puffy. I ended up going to the hospital and they said they wasn’t sure but that it seems like it could be a reaction to something. After about 3 days or so it finally stopped itching and the symptoms were improving. Has anyone noticed the same symptoms that have neuropathy??

Hi @chrissywashere, I haven't experienced the itching all over with my neuropathy although I have experienced some itching. Hoping someone else might have similar experience and can share it with you. It does sound like it's some sort of allergic reaction. Have you ever had pollen allergies?

So sorry about what you felt and glad there is improvement.
I have some minor itching once in a while but nothing all over.
If you ever experience that again, you might want to check with your primary physician.

Yes I had that. It was just after I was finally diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy (which took years we all have been through that) anyway I was always into skincare and such. I wasn’t a product junky where I used everything but I did use products for everything, aging, hair care, special washes for everything. One day I showered and couldn’t get out fast enough I was covered in hives. I itched terribly and got in and showered “off” whatever I might have used but it was all my normal products I had been using for years. I had some medicine allergies at that time (about 5) so I took benedryl and slept. After that day though I cannot use anything. That was 8 years ago and since then I’ve been allergic to 19 medications and every single cream soap makeup ect. No dr, whatever specialty I’ve seen can answer why this happened. I’ve had skin patch tests and I’m aware of some things I can’t use but I would have to keep going to be tested for every single ingredient. So now I just use what I can and it’s very little. I truly hope this doesn’t happen to you. But as soon as I read your post I thought of that day it happened to me. Good luck to you!
