I am probably having sigmoid colon removed and also have bowel incontinence. Does anyone have this situation that has had this surgery?

@donbarkman at three weeks I was in the same position that you’re in.
It takes time for the bowel to wake up and to adapt. So sorry to hear that you had CDiff.
I can’t imagine a newly resected bowel having to go through that.
At almost 4 months out I’m adding new foods one or two at a time.
Otherwise, I ate fish, chicken, protein pasta, rice, cooked vegetables and fruit, and other easy to digest foods.
Protein and lots of water are very important!
I didn’t get anything close to normal until at least two months. It’s a major operation and certainly a difficult recovery for some of us.
I’m not a doctor so I’m talking about my own experience.
I’ve gained a lot of help from a few support groups and have gotten good and bad advice from AI. I don’t like Facebook in general, but I am on a few support groups on that as well.
