Has anyone had experience with a Liver Transplant that has NET cancer?
Has anyone had experience with a Liver Transplant that has Neuroendocrine NET? My wife after chemo, surgery, PRRT, etc was suggested my our medical team to consider a Liver Transplant. We had reduced it at according to our PET scan to only in the liver, with about 10-12 tumors left that we could see on scans. We eventually sign up for the liver transplant, and got the call January 9th. Long surgery as it as everyone knows, next day had to go back in to remove clot in donated liver, day off, day 4 back in surgery, repair leak in vein, repair hole in diagphram, remove build up liquid. Thought we were out of the woods, went home about 10 day mark, and back in hospital next day again to do 3rd surgery, for liquid around the lung again, since then drain liquid twice by thorantesis procedure. My question(s) is if anyone with NET has done this choice of the transplant, if so how was the results. She is additionally, having bad shakes, told from Tacroromis script, tried lowering it and raising it, no results. What was your 1,2,3 month recovery like, and when did you start to feel closer to normal? She has been through 5 surgeries between cancer and liver transfer, I'm trying to tell her the big light at the end of the tunnel, much better health and life is almost here, but she isn't seeing it now, and regrets doing the transplant now. Open to any and all suggestions.
