Has anyone had a HIPEC procedure?
I was diagnosed with ACINAR pancreatic cancer in September 2023 I had a distal, pancreatectomy, and splenectomy and unfortunately, I had metastases to the liver. Chemo treatments shrank the liver tumors however I have spread to my peritoneal lining in my stomach. Is HIPEC an option? As I am running out of chemotherapy

I am in a trial that utilizes HIPEC. This will be my first surgery (I was diagnosed in April, 2025)

I can answer the above questions about the HIPEC trial that Mary is enrolled in, as she is my wife.
You can find it at https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT04858009
If you Google HIPEC, there's lots of good information about the procedure and how it's used.

Thank you for that link. It's only being done at Mayo in RocHester, I see, but that's an excellent facility, and I'm so glad Mayo is doing the trial. Please keep us posted on progress snd I wish for excellent results!

I'm not in a trial. But the link for the person that is is posted below.
@gsterle
My medical documents state : 'Locally advanced pancreatic cancer with metastatic peritoneal disease.'
Although everything looks good up to this point (chemo/scans/radiation)
I will not be officially enrolled in the trial until the surgeon reviews my scans which are scheduled for 1-2-26.
We have every reason to think positively that I will be able to participate in the trial as Mayo has already set up all the pre-surgery appointments, including a meeting with the surgeon the day prior to surgery, scheduled for 1-6.
The surgery will be done at Mayo. First surgery is laparoscopic and the 2nd surgery (1 month later) will be open.
