Has anyone found a treatment that helps with peripheral neuropathy?
I suspect that everyone on this forum has been searching for a medication that helps their neuropathy and even though you no that all the internet claims are false we continue to waste hundreds of pounds. Desperation is a powerful force. Has any one been fortunate enough to find a genuine treatment. I just can’t believe that there are so many awful people who prey on our vulnerability and knowingly orchestrate such elaborate scams.

@grapep12, hello. I have peripheral neuropathy in feet, ankles, legs, and above... but ONLY numbness, no pain or tingling. The neurologist said, after my EMG was normal, "It's the flecainide." (which I take for atrial fib) Then I went to a podiatrist who immediately ordered a spinal xray and an arterial ultrasound. (I previously had a nerve impingement at T12 which caused some numbness in my R hip, so he is wondering if spinal issues are also causing the neuropathy.) The results indicate "degenerative disc disease" at Lumbar 2-3 and 3-4, but I'll discuss the whole thing w/ him on Monday and will re-post if there's anything conclusive. I think you may be on the right track, investigating whether your spine may be causing some of your misery. As the old knee-connected-to-the-thigh bone song went, just about everything is indeed related to the spinal nerves in some way!

2 ReactionsI take Alpha Lipoid Acid. It is the same thing that is in the over the counter meds for nerves, but it is stronger. I take 600mg now. I get it at amazon, Walmart also has it, but it is not as strong. you can increase the strength any time and it does not bother you. Be sure to take with food. It might make your stomach burn a little, but you can rinse it down with water or eat. It is cheaper than the nerve meds over the counter.
The problem I have is that I feel like I have socks on. It is so weird. Don't like the feeling and I can't get rid of it. Does anyone else have this problem? God Bless yall. Fay

2 ReactionsI have very high B12 levels and thought that was the cause, but perhaps the ALA WILL HELP.

1 Reaction@captaint I agree. The least popular and most effective cure for many of our ailments is diet and exercise. I loved Dr Fuhrman's books and still apply one of his ideas "Have a big salad for lunch" nearly every day. He was one of the first and most influential people to emphasize the role of diet for all sorts of chronic conditions. Nowadays there's a lot out there about diet and health. Thank you for bringing this up.

3 ReactionsMy cure. Tart cherry juice 1/2 cup am andpm plus magnesium citrate
I had an appointment with my fort doctor yesterday on an unrelated health issue but he aware of my iPN and tries to help.
He suggested that I try Qutenza treatments for the burning sensation. I think I'm going to give it try but I'm not real encouraged based on the reviews I've read thus far.
R-Lipoic acid (R-ALA) is generally considered superior to standard alpha-lipoid acid (ALA) because it's the naturally occurring, biologically active form your body uses, offering better absorption, stability, and potency for antioxidant effects particularly for nerve health (neuropathy).

1 ReactionAccupuncture has really helped me. My knees used to literally burn and now with just a few treatments it has lessond. I started with 3 session per week. I got such a great response that I quickly went down to twice and now just every two weeks. The accupuncture helps to reduce inflamation.
