Has anyone ever been misdiagnosed with metastatic bone, kidney and lym
I was recently diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer from unknown source, then kidney cancer which was a small benign cyst and now lymp node cancer? Bone biopsy was negative and kidney. Please help

Now they did a broncoscopy of my 12rand 4 r lymph nodes. 12 r was negative
That sounds stressful. How did they diagnose? One of the problems with modern, highly sensitive imaging is that while it detects smaller tumours, it also throws up more false positives.
A lot of it also depends on the skill and experience of the radiologists reading the scans. If you're not already at a "center of excellence" or other major teaching/research hospital, it might be worth trying to get into one.
What test(s) was the cancer diagnosis based on? What did the report say?
CT scan
I am going to a teaching hospital
A CT scan can't tell if a growth is cancer or not (although if there are multiple or irregular tumors, it's a good guess.) How do they know it's metastatic bone cancer? You mentioned the 12r lymph node was negative. Was 4r positive? Was the benign cyst the only lesion on your kidneys?
@christinaclc There seems to be a lot of diagnostics taking place that sounds overwhelming and scary based on what you're mentioning. It's a little challenging putting it all together. The questions asked so far are attempting have understand more about your situation and I'll add this to see if we can help try to pull this together a bit more: what is the specialty of the doctor you're seeing at the teaching hospital and have you -- or will you soon - met with or be meeting with them to discuss these findings in more detail?
I’m going Friday for biopsy results
@ christinaclc. It will be good to get answers to your questions. Be sure to write down any you have as well as the information your Dr gives you as there’s frequently a tendency to forget some key points during times of stress.
I’m going to be away for the weekend but can you fill me on the results here when you get them?
My son had swollen lymph nodes back in 2018... They have been chasing cancer ever since. Not one test, ct scan, pet scan, procedure shows cancer.
Now they are saying he has cirrhosis and needs liver transplant... They ignored the liver? 2 yrs on infusions, nplates, gcsf shots due to low white cells, not high....We stopped this... Low platelets prob due to spleen.. remove. Not to remove.. be careful..
