A biopsy shows a classic (rare) chordoma (a tumor) on my tailbone. If anyone has had this, what is the treatment, and the best surgeon and hospital for treatment?
@mentonette I wasn't aware of this condition and had to look it up, but here is Mayo's information including possible treatments for Chordoma. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chordoma/cdc-20355401
As for where to go, I am biased because I am a Mayo spine surgery patient and my experience there was excellent. I had seen 5 spine surgeons that missed my diagnosis and wouldn't help me before I came to Mayo. I can't speak highly enough of my surgeon at Mayo in Rochester. He would be a good doctor for a consultation if you are able to go to Mayo. https://www.mayoclinic.org/biographies/fogelson-jeremy-l-m-d/bio-20055624
