Growing Nodules
I am so sad. I read my dad's CT report and it isn't as good as I hoped. Decreased lymph nodes, stable main tumor. But increase in size of several nodules in left lower lobe with representative nodule measuring 0.9 cm, previously 0.7 cm. New irregular subpleural opacity in right middle lobe measures 0.9 cm. Increased clustered nodularity in lingula.
I'm crushed. Now they are saying the lower lobe nodules are suspicious for Mets. Is there hope it's not?

I’m so sorry for your dad and you because I understand how stressful it is going through this watching and worrying about changes in the lung nodules. I have been living with this for over six years leading up to a upper left lobe removal and later on I had another wedge of my lower right lung removed, it’s usually very treatable to get rid of the nodules but it’s an ongoing process, sometimes surgery is enough if the cancer hasn’t spread and other times they use chemicals or radiation to destroy the disease. On a brighter side of things many people are living longer today due to earlier detection of the cancer and ongoing improvements with medications, some people here are living longer productive lives and in some cases they had stage four cancer. Try to stay positive especially for your father because he needs to feel in control of his health and also praying is very helpful to for all of you going through this, God is listening and will answer your prayers amen, best wishes for better health ahead.

2 Reactionshi @nfitzs, I'm sorry to hear it sounds like your dad may have had some progression. may I ask what kind of lung cancer he has and what treatment(s) he's on? as a cancer patient myself, I just want to say to you how much I'm sure it means to your dad to have your support. don't lose hope - as @frouke said, nodules can be treated. is there a reason they haven't removed the main tumor?
