Grover’s Disease - Topical lotion procedures?

Posted by conjur @conjur, Jun 27, 2024

Was just officially diagnosed with Grover’s after a second, more in-depth biopsy. I'd tried Triamcinolone before and it didn't seem to help much. Reading up here I started using Denorex as a body wash for affected areas and generous application of Sarna (0.5% campho and 0.5% menthol) and that seems to work for a few hours, esp if I'm not active so I can mostly get thru a work day now

My Herb Pharm cilantro extract just arrived from Amazon and will start that this evening and hopefully see some good effects.

My question is mainly this:

With all of these topical lotions (the Triamcinolone I was prescribed is thicker than before. More like a paste)

After showering, what would be the best order? Do a Sarna lotion first and once that’s mostly absorbed do the Triamcinoline? Or the other way around?

I have some witch hazel wipes I was going to use once or twice a day in order to clean affected areas and then reapply the lotions again

Thoughts?

I was diagnosed 3 years ago. My father had Pemphigus and my cousins family on his side had Haley Haley. I have an inground pool at our house that I use 1 gallon of chlorine and 1 1/2 cups muriatic acid, 2lbs alkalinity each week. It takes the itching away! Dermatologist says it’s crazy-well so is this 68 year old guy. Works for me- hope someone else gets the same effect!!! Stay away from public pools!!! They add extra chlorine because the general public can’t be trusted to not pee in the pool. Hang in there! We’ll find relief!!
