Hi Betty,
It feels as though I have mucus or "something" top of my throat ALWAYS which I can't swallow or cough up.
Finally got to ENT (ear nose throat) specialist yesterday, popped a camera down there... nothing. So that's his diagnosis.

Hi Cherry. Same thing for me. Scoped and all. My pcp suggested citrus to help produce saliva etc but I have histamine intolerance so found vitamin c gummies I can suck on about twice a day for my daily vitamin c, watch suggested dose as differ🙃, Has greatly helped and hope works for you!🌈

I noticed this many years ago when I was in my early 20's. I went to the doctor, who did nothing, but eventually it went away.

Many years later I bought some of the cheap little ramen noodle packets that I had eaten when I was young out of nostalgia, and the sensation came back. Quaker breakfast bars have the same effect. So for me, I think this must be caused by some food additive. I'm not sure whether acid reflux is involved, but I wouldn't discount the possibility.

It might be worth trying to figure out if it's something you're eating.

Silent reflux can cause this sensation. I had globus sensation, in addition to other symptoms such as constant throat clearing and post nasal drip, for years (but no heartburn so did not recognize this as acid reflux). Once I dropped all acid products (vinegar, citrus, hot sauce, tea, coffee, alcohol, carbonated beverages, tomato, onion and garlic), all these symptoms went away after about 2 months on the diet. Unfortunately, I appear to have had enough damage from reflux that my upper esophageal sphincter is now not working properly (or it's a long covid symptom - my other theory). But diet won't fix the dysfunction so my ENT is going to try Botox to the upper sphincter muscle (cricopharyngeal muscle). At any rate, diet is always worth a shot (but you have to do it for at least 1-2 months, it's not a short-term fix). Hope you find some relief.
