Anyone have a hard time getting back to normal after ADT?

I had 3 shots of Lupron and one pill of abiraterone acetate (general Zytiga) to suppress my testosterone. I stopped this, because it was simply too disruptive. Last shot was early December 2025. I still have this disruption. I don't sleep well. I keep waking up, feeling like my hormones are racing around in my body Nap often. I feel lousy much of the day. I'm thinking it's affecting my heart. Want to see an endocrinologist. Anybody else having/had a hard time getting back to normal?

The difference is in my case I was on ADT for six years when I tried this. At the age of 77 neither I nor my oncologist figured my testosterone would come back at all.

Somebody that has a short term of ADT, Like the six months you refer to, We’ll have testosterone come back in the low hundreds within six months and at 16 months will be pretty much normal. If they take Orgovyx it will come back even quicker.

My brother is a perfect example. He was put on 6 months of Lupron at 77 for his radiation treatments. After about nine months, most of the side effects were gone and at a little over a year they were gone completely. This is an older person whose testosterone recovered within a reasonable amount of time. It does happen.

@jeffmarc I did not say no one recovers. I expect the majority of those over 75 will recover to at least a low normal level of testosterone from Lupron. However, the number that do not recover is higher with Lupron than Orgovyx so why would anyone take worst side effects with the risk of them being permanent if given full information?
