Gadget to hear phone/cell phone ringing when not wearing hearing aids

Posted by kayda916 @kayda916, Jun 26, 2023

I am trying to find a gadget to help in hearing the phone/cell phone ring when I am sleeping without my hearing aids. The bed shakers I find only work with alarm clocks. Does anyone know of a device that would help?

There are numerous hearing assisted devices on sites that are geared to people with hearing challenges. Diglo.com has a Clear Sounds CR200 that you supposedly connect to your phone that has volume, a light strobe that lights up the whole room and an optional Jack to connect a bed shaker. I would check Harris Communications and Oaktree products and maybe Adco.
They can all be trialed and returned. I use the flasher on my cell phone what lights up when a call comes through but it only flashes once. Something like the Clear Sounds might work and you can research them.

Perhaps someone here uses a product that they like. I actually was thinking of something along that line for myself and your post tweaked my interest again.
I’ll post back if I find something . I actually could wear my Samsung watch to bed since it’s connected to my cell phone. Both vibrate when a call comes in.
I just don’t like to wear it to bed since it’s on my wrist all day .

Let us know what you find

Thank you for the information. You provided a lot that I will check out. Hoping to find something more of the bed shaker since I live in an apartment and don't think my neighbors will appreciate louder sounds!

I use a KROWN mfg phone flasher.

I have it taped up about 5 ft high on a wall opposite where I regularly sit.

It flashes very bright when the phone rings, and continues flashing until the
phone is answered. This is more than enough to get my attention even when
I am listening to music through headphones or am in another room.

You will also need a length of phoneline extension cord long enough to run from the
flasher to a convenient phone wall plug, and someone who can connect the flasher
to the phone wall plug, Connecting is straightforward, but best done by someone who
knows what he/she is doing.

I be;ieve I bought my KROWN flasher online from Amazon.

I hope this helps.

Most fitness trackers will do this with cell phones. Mine is a garmin vivoactive 3 which i use for swimming, golf and walking. It also pairs with my android cell phone and sends me text messages that arrive.

When a call comes in it vibrates and shows who is calling. It gives me the option to answer or reject. Another nice feature is use as an alarm clock. Once I set it, it will vibrate at the desired time. Far better than trying to hear an alarm, and mobile too.

I could not hear well on the phone even with my hearing
aids. My son suggested trying Facebook audio on my
iPad. It is great. Of course I have to get family and friends to call me that way. I just got an iPhone so presume it will work well on that too.

I use an iPhone and know the Apple Watch gives this feature. I prefer not to wear it to bed, but it may be my only option. Thank you for your info.

I have found using the speaker phone works well. My hearing aids are compatible with my iPhone, so this is wonderful since the sound goes straight to my hearing aid without any interference. Hopefully you have this feature as well.
