Gabapentin vs Lyrica

I wondering which is better, Gabapentin or Lyrica? I’m on Gabapentin for nerve pain. What are your thoughts? Is one better than the other?

I have been on Gabapentin 800 mg for years and a friend told me that Lyrica seemed to be stronger and didn't need to take it 3 or 4 times a day. And he was pain free.

Also I have seizure like episodes and I haven't been to the neurologist yet and I stop breathing completely with the episodes.. ER doctor just days ago said " Your not having a seizure cause it doesn't look like you do" and a few days later, I found out my regular MD suspended my Gabapentin prescription?? Does anyone know what or why they'd do that?

Probably because addiction problem that was a huge amount you were using . CBD 1500 MG NO THC has been working for me

Yes ma'am your right but my family doctor put me on 800mg 4x a day and I asked her if we could try Lyrica or anything else cause I didn't like taking so much.. she got really nasty and said she would up the dosage instead of trying something else. I've tried many times to taper off and that's when I started having seizures. When I go to the neurologist next week I'm going to tell him what is going on and ask him to see about trying Lyrica.. it's a lower dose and only 1 maybe 2 times a day and I believe it will stop these seizures. Pray for me. And to be honest with you, I used to smoke weed or CBD as you call it and never had a seizure. I had to stop smoking it cause I couldn't afford it and here we are. Thank you for your reply.

Wouldn’t it be safer to call your MD first & ask directly his reason for stopping? You could ask for opinions from others after you know why. Everyone’s issues & experiences are different and may not apply to you.

Oh yes ma'am I intend to first thing Monday morning. Cause maybe it's a misunderstanding or something messed up in the system. Who knows but I'm going to give doctor the benefit of the doubt. Besides I have a right to know. I have an appointment for a Neurologist next week and I hopefully will find out what it is that's happening. Could be I've been on medication too long.. as in 10 years on it. I'm putting it in God's hands and letting him take the wheel. Thank you for replying.

I use Lyica an one pill twice a day. I get it free through Special Pharmacy. CBD I use has no THC I pay $39 for 30 Gummies. It is the best relief I've had. I take Dulaxetine which they say can work with the CBD. Another thing I used was called Sanexas Electric Stemilation which worked well the Medicare stop paying for it.
