Gabapentin and Autonomic Nervous System

Posted by zippitydoda @zippitydoda, Oct 21 9:43pm

Neurologist has prescribed Gabapentin to help with overheating temperature regulation. Have been taking 100 mg, 3xdaily for a little over a week, but my overheating issues seem to have increased dramatically since starting it. Should I be concerned?

Some people react to Gabapentin in an unexpected and paradoxical way, and maybe you are one of them.
Since your issues have increased dramatically, it is not something you should just "wait out". I think you should call your neurologist and report it, but until you call him, document the symptoms and levels of your temperature.

Hello @zippitydoda

It looks like @bridgeback2 has already responded to your post, and I agree that you should report this to your prescribing physician sooner rather than later.

Have you contacted the doctor's office yet to report this concern?
