Frequent sore throats

Good morning, @skfields. You’re wondering if it’s common to get more frequent sore throats after being finished with cancer treatments. Having any systemic chemo or radiation to fight the cancer can weaken the immune system. That opens us up to more possibility of infections or illnesses and our ability to fight them off.
What are your sore throats like? Do they actually develop into a cold or chest congestion? Do you wake up with a sore throat or feel any post nasal drip?

You posted this in head and neck cancers…if you don’t mind my asking, what type of cancer did you have? Was this cancer in your head or neck area that might have impacted where you’re feeling the sore throat?
