Frankincense and Myrrh for Neuropathy pain

Posted by hotfooted @hotfooted, Apr 26, 2019

Today I saw the Nutritionist that my doctor sent me to.. As usual, my feet were red and burning. She told me that many Diabetics that she counseled used Frankincense and Myrrh drops mixed with a lotion and they swore by it.. wouldn't be without it. She had some and we tried it on my poor feet right then.. It was absolutely amazing! My feet cooled down immediately and they became their normal white skin again. That was this morning and they are still okay at 5:30 in the evening.. My gosh, maybe I'll be able to sleep better tonight... Have any of you tried this? If so, what has been your experience with it? I'm hoping to hear lots of comments back...

I am so pleased it worked for you. I have let's say mild neuropathy I the feet. Does not hurt, does not burn . I play tennis and pickle ball with no problem . I take 600 mg of gabapentin a day. Which helps take the tingling away. I would like to reduce it to 0 that's why I am trying these things.
You case is much worse and here it clearly has an effect.

Thank you David.. Neuropathy and Erythromelalgia are taking a toll on my feet.. The toes on my right foot are purple today and that's scaring me.. it's happening far too often.. I don't think that I've mentioned the tiny muscle twitches in my calves before, but those just never stop.. They've been doing this for years, guess I've gotten use to that type of tingle sensation and don't notice it as much unless I see them.. I'm grateful for any relief from the burning feet.. As I said previously, I'm 76 years old now.. Not many folks make it this far in life without some issues and I've been very fortunate.. It's been a good life...

DAY 6 of my experiment using Frankincense and Myrrh NEUROPATHY daily... It took a few days for my order to arrive and I began testing it out the next day.. I am amazed at the relief that I've gotten from it! The pain and burning has gone away.. At first I used the 6 drops with lotion, and it helped some... then I increased to 12 drops with lotion morning and night and slept through the nights, was able to walk around my house without pain.. Last night I did not use any and slept all night long, without socks.. Kept my feet under the comforter and slept well all night.. This morning I woke without pain or burning, but used the drops and lotion before getting out of bed.. Lay there for a while before getting up.. Came in and made my coffee and toast.. without pain.. I still sit and put my feet up most of the time, and don't think I'll ever be ready for a day of shopping again, but it does feel wonderful to take care of myself at home again.. With Erythromelalgia in my feet, especially the right foot, my toes are discolored with a couple of them being purple.. but they don't hurt! I'm so sorry that the F&M hasn't worked for everybody, but I have Small Fiber Nueropathy and it is working for me!

Hi @hotfooted, I thought I would answer your private message in your discussion since it maybe helpful to other members also. I have tried different essential oils including Frankincense and Myrrh early in my search journey to see if it would help the numbness in my legs and feet but unfortunately it did nothing for me. Not to say that it hasn't helped others that have pain associated with their neuropathy. Here are few links with some information that may be helpful if you want to investigate it's use.

Hi John.. I'm continuing to post about my experience with Frankincense and Myrrh NEUROPATHY rubbing oil.. and it's helped me tremendously so far.. I am surprised that I don't find others using it since in my area of Oregon it is used by many diabetics with neuropathy and burning pain in the feet.. Is this kind of pain uncommon? SFN pain along with my other malady of Erythromelalgia has crippled me and changed my life, keeping me confined to a chair with my feet up.. I was completely surprised when the F&M rub made such a big difference for me.. and am so sorry that it doesn't do as much for others.. I would not have even tried it out on my own, but when the diabetic nutritionist used it on me and I had such amazing relief immediately I am just so glad and grateful that she did...

DAY 9 of my experience using Frankincense and Myrrh NEUROPATHY drops for red hot burning feet, SFN and Erythromelalgia.. Two nights ago I used the drops at bedtime even though my feet were feeling okay.. I thought if a little helped so much, maybe more might "cure" me forever.. Duh! Bad idea.. I was awake most of the night and in pain.. Next morning I used the drops again.. Still not a good idea, as I was in pain all day.. Now this morning I used the drops again and today I have been free of pain all day long.. It has been a wonderful day! So now I will only be treating my tootsies to the one treatment every morning.. Remember, from my previous posts that a treatment for me consists of 12 drops mixed about a tablespoon of lotion...

DAY 10 - My right foot was somewhat red and hot when I went to bed last night, but I did not use anything on it.. Simply sprayed feet with tepid water for a bit, then to bed.. I slept well and without socks. Woke up this morning with numb, tingling feet, but no burning... So far, so good today.. Maybe I should use the "drops" now, but will wait and see what develops today.. Right now I'm sitting with my feet up and having morning coffee and toast.. Very curious about might occur today.. My legs feel numb and tingling too, all the way up to and including my knees.. I'm concerned about the way this has been moving up my legs so rapidly...

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I have severe SFN and Autonomic Dysfunction - lots of nerve pain throughout my body. I experience all that you have described, in both of my hands and up to my elbows. I am going to purchase some Frankincense and Myhhr drops, to see if it will help my hands and forearms. I will let you know my experience with the drops combined with lotion. Fingers crossed, it will help! I am so very happy to hear you have found relief. Very nice to hear. May you continue to get daily and nightly relief!

Slept until 7:00 a.m. Feet have felt numb and tingling, nerve/muscle twitches in calves are keeping me on edge.. I feel shaky and weak.. but no red burning pain so far..

DAY 15 - I'm continuing to use the F&M oil w/ lotion on my feet.. and having fewer hot burning flares now.. Basically, I rub it on my feet when they flare up and it lasts more than 12 hours before having to do it again. With the red hot burning happening less often, now I am more aware of the edgy creepy feeling of neuropathy in my feet and legs.. which is very uncomfortable.. I am able to distract myself from that as long as I keep my mind occupied with online leaning classes, games, etc.. Still stay off my feet as much as possible and keep them up, otherwise the blood wants to puddle in my toes and that starts the pain up again..

DAY 17 - My feet are definitely burning less now.. I used the F&M oil/lotion yesterday morning when I woke up, but have not used it since and it's now bedtime on the second day! My feet are now very cold to the touch and not red at all.. Yesterday I wore 2 pair of socks at the same time and that felt very good.. Today I tried a pair of my husband's larger loose (on my foot) WOOL socks and my feet are feeling so much happier! They are still icy cold to the touch, but the wool socks are keeping the small fiber nerves from acting up on me.. I haven't been able to wear shoes for the past few months, and am still not trying to.. I have no idea what is happening, but am feeling so much better.. It is wonderful to stand and walk without pain or having to hurry to get my feet up again.. I will continue to post my experience.. and please remember that I have Erythromelalgia along with neuropathy.. so it's been a struggle...

DAY 19 - Well, after complaining that I couldn't find this spot to continue my saga, here it is! I came straight to it!! Oh well, memory is just one more of my worries!!
My right foot has been slightly flaring for the past couple of days, but I continue to use the F&M rubbing oil on both.. When not having red flare, my feet are both sooo cold that I have begun wearing baggy wool socks.. That has helped the neuropathy pain.. Sometimes I wear a wool sock on the left foot and nothing on the right one, as it's the one that flares the most.. Right now tho I have on diabetic cotton socks with them doubled down to only cover my toes on each foot.. Keeping those toes warm, and no flaring burning pain.. We are about to make our Sunday omellette, so I'll be slicing and chopping, setting the table, etc.. Hopefully, my feet will still be comfortable when that job is all done.. Also, I'll be wearing only my Merrell Treviso slides without socks as I'll be standing and moving around some.. with socks my feet do get too hot and at least one foot will flare.. Maybe I'll post more this afternoon.. Thankfully though, the F&M has improved my life immensely.. I am so grateful for some relief from all the pain, and do hope it helps some of you.. Blessings...
