Forteo-dizziness onset

How long does dizziness last after you inject Forteo?

The drop in blood pressure is within seconds of the injection. Dizziness will lessen gradually over the next four hours as the blood pressure returns to normal. Being well hydrated will lessen the effect as will salt intake.
Theoretically caffiene will lessen the effect as it causes vasoconstriction.

Never had dizziness. Was this after your first injection? Let your doc know.

I switched to Tymlos with its adjustable dose and ramped up to get my body used to it! It works in a similar way that Forteo does (through the parathyroid) with some technical differences.

Same. I never had dizziness. I finished the 24 month treatment and had none at all. In fact, very mild, what I assumed to be, side effects in the first 2-3 weeks and then not much after that.

If you have low blood pressure to begin with the blood pressure drop is more likely to cause some dizziness.

I was on Forteo for full course . No side effects. At beginning I though I might be feeling a little light headed , but that happened just a couple of times. BTW I weighed about 117 at most and was 5'5" at the time.
Same thing for Reclast , which I am prescribed by HSS in NYC after annual bone density and labs.

The first time I took the shot I was dizzy too . I found that if you take it at bedtime it helped me now that I have taken it for five months the dizziness has gone away and I’m able to set and watch a little tv before bedtime
