For those with fatigue as a side effect of Forteo/teriparitide.
Hi everyone. Relatively new to this group so have asked a lot of questions recently. Appreciate all the helpful answers more than you guys know. I have long covid with many symptoms for the past 5.5 years but the two of over a dozen doctor diagnosed LC symptoms that concern me the most vis a vis the daily injection drugs are moderately severe constant myalgia's and chronic fatigue (never had either of these prior to Covid infection March 2021). I will be starting generic Forteo in January so that there are only 2 years of the 2400 out of pocket Max instead of 3 years. Do NOT want to give an extra 2400 to the drug companies by starting it now. Plan is for 2 years use before the next step (-4.3 spine means this is best and this is first osteoporosis drug I am using) . The fatigue with my Long Covid kicks in usually mid to late afternoon or evening. I prefer to inject this drug in the morning after breakfast when I am most alert and not falling asleep on my chair as I can do at times after dinner watching TV . I was all set on this planned protocol when I read that for many they get fatigue and dizziness (among other things) during the 4 hours after the injection. If so that cuts into the time when I usually take a walk, ride and exercise bicycle, do PT exercises at age 73 an important part of my daily routine. . One study talks about better gains if injected in the morning but don't think this has been replicated and the head of the bone clinic here hasn't heard of that. So those who had fatigue on this med, how long did it last? Did you find one time of day easier to tolerate than the other? And I realize everyone responds differently but just trying to get an idea of the experiences of others. My worry about evening dosing is I will stress out about it so much and also have to wake myself up to do it and if I really do fall soundly asleep on the chair I could potentially sleep well past the usual dosage window. Thank you so much!
