For the last 3-4 years I’ve had back spasms and pain in my thoracic a.

I’ve had 4 different sessions of PT and failed all. Also have had myoflex injections that didn’t help ( doctor said she didn’t give me the correct dosage). My PCP has prescribed Nuycenta. Also saw a chiropractor with no results. Now I’ve had my 10 th acupuncture session that helps with the pain for a couple of hours but then the spasms come right back. Not quite sure where to go from here.

Hey There! I'm so sorry you are hurting. I do not see muscle relaxants taking orally in your list of things you have tried. Just a thought as they do help greatly with muscle spasms. I do not battle nearly what you do with pain, but, I do when needed take a 1/2 (Prescription) Flexeril 5 mg for fibromyalgia/muscle spasms/sciatica pain and it helps greatly along with a heat pack. There are a lot of muscle relaxants out there, but, this one has worked the best for me. It is an older drug., tried and true. The newer muscle relaxants either do not work or the side effects were unbearable. Just a thought for you to mention to your doctor or you may have already tried one of these. Praying for you as this has got to be miserable. Bless You.

@orion7578 that sounds terrible.
Has anyone ever mentioned fibromyalgia?

If all of those things failed, it could be fibromyalgia because none of them cures or solves it.
I get back spasms, and have pain everywhere most days. I have had fibromyalgia for many years.

Wishing you the best.

No , no one has ever said anything about fibromyalgia. How do you manage the pain? I will research this, thank you so much!

Yes, I am taking Tizanidine 1-2 three times daily as needed. They work at night to get me 5-6 hours of sleep. But tough to take during the day as they make me drowsy. Thanks for your advice.

I too have Fibromyalgia and was wondering the same thing as SusanEllen66. You hurt all over with it, sore to the touch, stiffness, fatigue, burning, muscle spasms & fatigue. I couldn't take the Tizanidine (perhaps you could ask your doctor if you could cut them in half during the day?), but it is one of the ones given for Fibromyalgia. Robaxin may be something you could try and see if you can get better relief and less drowsiness with it. You could ask your doctor. I tried 4 different ones and Flexeril works the best for me. Praying much for you. Blessings.

@orion7578 basically, I live with it. I have other things that give me pain like polyneuropathy, and osteoarthritis.
My body is extremely sensitive to all medications so I don’t take anything during the day. At night I might take 2 extra strength Tylenol (not PM)
Tylenol makes me sleepy!
So, I try and focus on other things, and ignore the pain…
