Follow up appointments after breast cancer radiation treatment.

How long have any of you continued to have follow up appointments with your radiation oncologist after you have completed radiation therapy?

I will continue to see my regular oncologist until I have reached 5 years past my cancer surgery, but I was curious how long any of you are required to keep following up with your radiation oncologists.

I only saw mine once after I completed 5 weeks of daily radiation.

I was diagnosed in 2020 and see my breast Dr. every 6 months. I had a lumpectomy and was on Exemestane for quite awhile. I recently changed to Letrozole. They have all ready scheduled my next appointment. Better safe than sorry.................

I had three weeks of radiation and saw my radiation oncologist at the end of that, but not again. I do see my oncologist every 3-6 months. I'm three years out from diagnosis.

Mine saw me every week during radiation then 3 months after finished and then done with her. Saw surgeons PA after mammogram every 6 months for 2 years after surgery (starting 3 months after radiation so really saw her 1st time almost a year later), now at 1 year and then done with her will see oncologist for as long as I am on ai therapy which is recommended for 5 years. Has been every 2-3 months till now and has backed of to every 6 months. Then I guess it’s up to PCP and insurance.
