FND- spinal anesthesia- trauma

Posted by jlb1984 @jlb1984, 9 hours ago

I went into the hospital to have a left hip replacement, they give me spinal anesthesia a nerve block. I should’ve went home three days after surgery approximately. I developed orthostatic blood pressures in my hands, and my legs were shaking like three days later I ended up in a rehab center For 44 days. I developed tremors, light sensitivity, double vision headaches behind the eyes, gait issues and I am legally blind. All of these conditions started after surgery. I’ve had many tests done. I’ve been through physical therapy with a FND specialist. And have also done cognitive behavior therapy had many tests done and just wondering could have my body seen or reacted to the surgery as trauma and caused my functional logic disorder. Thank you.

@jlb1984 oh my, that sounds awful!
Were you officially diagnosed with FND? Have you been tested for Ataxia?

I have FND, and it is compared to having a computer “software” problem, not the “hardware” (computer). The brain and body do not communicate with each other correctly.
I haven’t had any physical problems that would cause my symptoms. I am currently working with a physical therapist, a mental health therapist, and of course my neurologist.

The brain is amazing. I have Mild Cognitive Impairment, but my FND causes me more problems than the MCI.
