Anyone tried fasting-mimicking diets (FMDs) during chemotherapy ?

HI! Has anyone tried FMD during Chemo?

We were introduced to The Longevity Diet by Valter Longo by a Cancer Survivor Friend. The Oncologist at Kaiser Permanente said he would support my husband doing it while undergoing Chemo as long as he did not lose too much weight.
My husband is either Stage 3 or 4 GEJ Adenocarcinoma.

Me personally... it's a bullsht gimmick... don't bother. You sure as hell ain't gonna starve his cancer to death. That ship has sailed. He has cancer... his cancer will convert anything in his body to be fed and to grow and to metastasize. It knows what to do... regardless of what he eats. And besides... there are plenty of places on our EC journeys we are up against weight loss. I advise hundreds of my fellow EC patients I counsel to pack on the weight any chance they get... as long as they can swallow and keep it down. During our chemoradiation treatments we often lose our taste buds... lose our desire to eat... have nasty nausea, etc. But if you can swallow... go get 'em! EAT EAT EAT! you're eating for survival... for all that is yet to come on your EC journey.
But I get it... sometimes we all want that mental edge... to believe how we're eating now is helping us to fight our cancer. Hogwash... stop losing weight and pack on those pounds... because looking like a corpse... freezing your ass off... feeling your bones just sitting on hard surfaces... many of us have been there! Not pretty! Be well!

Gary.....I think you need to maybe look at different forum about fasting on chemo and diets. It ABSOLUTELY can change your outcome. Not sure if anyone is paid on here to shut down "so called myths" but its sad that doctors do not care about alternative medicine that is proving to work. My dad did alternative treatment and his scans are clear with no surgrey. Please anyone look into other treatments than chemo. I find it weird that you cant even mention certain words on here without your post being taken down. There is no violation of terms. It is simply looking for other ways to heal.

Remember... no one stops you from doing what you want to do. And the police don't come and force you to do chemo either. Everyone is free to make their own choices. But I've seen many try these alternative treatments... not with good results. But good for your dad... go get 'em. I wish you both well.

Yes, I tried the fasting diet in 2023 (I had stage 4, Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma; 6 cycles of RCHOP). I heard about the diet through a natural path out of Portland Oregon, that specializes in oncology (Sage Cancer Care).
Both my doctor and I were amazed by the results! I had very little nausea, mouth pain and fatigue. I did NOT lose any weight throughout the process.
I highly recommend it if monitored by your natural-path and oncologist. Note - It IS difficult to do, especially towards the end, but my natural path helped.
At the end of chemo, I had no signs of DLBCL 🙂
